As you walk into the place you get instantly cooled with the great AC levels which was a welcome treat after walking though the 35 degree heat to get to the restaraunt. The staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the food and drink they had on offer.
The menu at a glance looked limited until you read they don’t believe in a fixed menu and are guided to the extensive specials board which was easily five times bigger than the menu itself and, of course, the meat counter with a plethora of cuts that made it hard to make a decision on what to order.
As a side note, the wine and drinks list can only be described with one word; HUGE!
With all meats sold by weight you can choose the size to fit your appetite, the range of cuts were extensive with T bones, fillets, sirloins and shortrib catering for all tastes with 4 types of ribeye with differing fat contents to really suit your taste. Alongside the selection of beef there was Iberian pork cutlets and New Zealand lamb rack.
We ordered the goats cheese mousse with pear chutney, the chicken croquettes and a veal sausage to start and Fordy went for the fillet and it was the ribeye for myself paired with grilled vegetables and truffle mash.
